Lincoln is.....
One of the region's fastest growing cities. In fact, between 2000 and 2010 Lincoln was the fastest growing city in the US with a growth rate of 282%. After real estate values peaked in 2005-2006 growth slowed in Lincoln, but, it's picking up again now that real estate prices are on the rise.
Many people believe Lincoln was named for President Abraham Lincoln. However, it was really named in honor of Charles Lincoln Wilson, one of the organizers and directors of the California Central Railroad that built the railroad line that still runs through town.
Lincoln is conveniently located just north of Rocklin and Roseville, and major shopping in Roseville is just a quick drive away off Highway 65. A short, although winding drive to the East is Auburn and Interstate 80. Lincoln is home to quality and convenient shopping centers as well.
Lincoln has a variety of neighborhoods. "Old Lincoln" is the historic part of town and a major tourist attraction is the Gladding, McBean Co. Just east of town are picturesque farms. South of downtown are located the newest neighborhoods including family-friendly Lincoln Crossing and Twelve Bridges, Sun City Lincoln, Catta Verdera with high-end homes and a world-class golf course. In fact, Lincoln is a regional destination for golfers. Just south of the primary housing areas is Thunder Valley Casino with quality dining, gaming, hotel accommodations, and entertainment.
Recently, the Highway 65 Bypass was completed and north to south traffic no longer has to pass through town - a major improvement in the quality of life in Lincoln. Also, the Bypass provides quick freeway access to Roseville, Rocklin and Sacramento.
